Classes
The next and final "Recovering your Creative Spirit" courses for this year will be commencing soon. I will be returning to France for a project in September, so these will be the final dates for 2011, book early and join us; tell your friends and don't miss out.
Over my 10 years experience of teaching art to adults and over 25 years exhibition and arts practice, I have developed a unique approach to teaching drawing and painting to both beginners and those more experienced. Many regular students are now exhibiting and selling their own work. The results have been exciting and confirmed my belief in an holistic approach to a deeper, creative arts practice. An approach which engages eye, hand, mind and spirit coordination. I hope you can join us.
For the first time, we will be exhibiting student's works at 314 Gallery later this year. It is open to all those who have completed level 2 "Recovering your Creative Spirit, Freedom in Expression" and selected level 1 students.

Recovering Your Creative Spirit;
The Artist's Journey
Level 1
"It is safe to open ourselves up to greater and greater creativity" The Artist's Way, Julia Cameron.
There is a state we can all access which I'll call the highly creative flow state, where you lose all sense of time, your ego vanishes and you become totally at one with your art work. We've all experienced it, but it can prove to be somewhat elusive! This new course helps us access this flow state and to recover our creative spirit.
I am very excited about offering this new 8 week program as I have some great exercises which allow us a deeper look at the creative process itself, and how it works for each individual. Along with my own approach, I will be dipping into Julia Cameron's classic book, "The Artists Way", to guide us into a deeper connection with our own personal creative potential.
"Once we remove the blocks, the flow moves in"...
With guidance, we are able to recognise thought patterns that subconsciously inform us. Once we are aware of these limiting belief systems, we are able to release what is no longer useful and move forward through creative blocks into a freer and more true expression of our own unique visions.
Over the course of the program we will be working with a number of exercises to help us move out from our comfort zones, take risks with our work and have fun. Learning new techniques and developing new skills with charcoal, soft pastels and paint; covering a number of subject matter including still life, portrait, the nude and your own free choice.
"Art is an act of the soul, not the intellect, we are in the realm of the sacred. We are involved with forces and energies larger than our own. We are engaged in a sacred transaction of which we know only a little. We invoke the Great Creator when we invoke our own creativity." The Artist's Way.
The results students have achieved with this program have been fantastic, integrating inner exploration with creative expression, grounded in skill development.
